"Son's are a heritage from the LORD, children a reward from Him. Like arrows in the hand of a warrior are sons born in one's youth. Blessed is the man whose quiver is full of them. They will not be put to shame when they contend with their enemies in the gate." Ps 127:3-5

Team Myatt invades dental office

This week we had our 6 month dental check ups for the older 7 kiddos.  Things didn't go exactly as planned, but they hardly ever do.  On Monday we were suppose to be at the dentist at 9am for the first 3 appointments, I sadly realized this at 9:05am.  I called the dentist and they told  me to come on in and they would still see the 2 scheduled for 9:30am.  Taking in to account needing to get 9 kids dressed and that we live 45 minutes away, STRESS was making a BIG appearance.

We made a mad scramble, with me throwing any clothes that would fit at the kids.  There was more than a few protest about what they were being given to wear.  The younger 3 boys were just left in their pjs and boots thrown on (we were trying to make a fashion statement).  We got there at 10am and they went ahead and saw the twins, cavity free, and they rescheduled Kynleigh to just be seen with the older kids on Wednesday.

Fast forward to Today, Wednesday, and we are off to the dentist again to have the older 5 seen.  I remembered this morning and was out the door on time, with everyone fully dressed in the correct clothes and shoes, YEAH ME!  We arrived with 9 minutes to spare (not really once you count unloading) and I was filling good so I didn't take the stroller in (BIG MISTAKE).

Everything started out fine, kids were playing with the toys and looking at books while the first two were taken back.  Then, as if a divine light from above shown down illuminating it, they saw the coffee cart in the corner.  It was a mad dash to see which set of fingers could pillage it first.  Within the blink of an eye, and I am not exaggerating here, that carts contents exploded in every direction.  The coffee stirs became a instant game of pick up stixs, the Styrofoam cups looked great for building towers out of, and that cute little squirt bottle of creamer, well, let just be thankful the 1 year old couldn't get the lid off before he began shaking it up side down.  Thankfully the actual pitcher of coffee didn't look very entertaining and it was left alone.

I began the tedious job of cleaning up and apologizing for our mess, all while periodically running kids out of the bathroom so that wouldn't be TP'd as well.  Meanwhile, the older two have finished up and came back out and another has headed back.  The ones that just came out decided they needed a drink and each got a small bottle of water, it was like a green light for the rest to commence pillaging the cart again.  I never knew my twins could move that fast.  Before I knew it, Jaedan had a water bottle and had spilled it all over the nice plush chairs in the waiting room while I was returning the water that Mikalyn and Rylan had taken.

Finally I had, had enough as this mad house continued and Daelan is beginning to wake up to eat.  I only had one child left in the back, 4 are done and now comparing their goody bags and complaining of the little ones trying to steal their floss and toothpaste, so I decided to start loading the van.  Just so no one gets overly concerned, we were the only ones there and my van was parked right in front of the door.  We found our buddies and made our way out, but then we apparently forgot what we are suppose to do, dropped hands, and commenced to running a'muck.  Chaos ensued until I finally got everyone captured, loaded, and buckled in, then called Mitch to vent while waiting for Shaelin to finish up.  She got done and we got to go home and take naps, Praise the Lord!  Everyone was cavity free, appointment for next time made (all 8 scheduled together) and I will be taking in the stroller!
