"Son's are a heritage from the LORD, children a reward from Him. Like arrows in the hand of a warrior are sons born in one's youth. Blessed is the man whose quiver is full of them. They will not be put to shame when they contend with their enemies in the gate." Ps 127:3-5

Goodbye 2010, Hello 2011!

The presents are opened and scattered throughout the house, the ornaments are packed away and the tree is down, it must be time to make those New Year Resolutions again.

Wait!  Before you begin to pull out that list of things you told yourself you would accomplish this year and didn't, lets just take a moment to think of all the things that God accomplished in your life.  Take a new perspective this year when facing the New Year, a God-directed one.  Sit down and write out all the things you have seen God do in your life, through you, and in the world around you; it will be much more fulfilling then looking at what you didn't do.

Next, instead of making a list of resolutions, stop and spend some time in prayer about what God would want you to work on in 2011.  Write it down and look up verses that might help encourage you or relate to those things.  Hang it on the bathroom mirror or any other place where you will look at it each day.  Say those verses out loud, read your list, and pray to God that He would help you make the changes that need to be made.  Also be ready for God to add to your list throughout the year, for only He knows what is before us.  You will not be disappointed in the results this time next year, but rejoicing in how faithful our Heavenly Father is and how much He has grown you.

Pray everyday that God will make you a blessing to someone else, for through being a blessing to others is when we are truly blessed ourselves.  Their is no greater joy that being used by God to accomplish His Will.  Look to the positive, dismiss the negative, and make the devil shake with fear every morning when you rise from your bed.

I pray that you will have a very blessed 2011, will see God's hand at work in and around your life, and that you will Grow!

Happy New Year!
